Principal's Message
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL DR. CAROL GREENE
A VERY WARM WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025
FIRST DAY OF INSTRUCTION IS MONDAY, AUGUST 12 8:30 a.m.
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,
We are looking forward to a productive school year in 2024-2025. The goal of our continuation high school is to help all students progress to high school graduation. In addition, our team of teachers and counselors are committed to assist each student to develop a transition plan for post-secondary career or college. Our instructional program is designed to build literacy and numeracy skills needed for success in higher education and the workplace. To help students to make thoughtful decisions for the future, we expose students to all of the options following high school. Built into our program are field trips and live presentations from representatives of the neighboring occupational centers, community colleges and universities, the armed forces, and local companies offering internships leading to employment.
We cannot do it alone. We need parent and guardian support to encourage students to come to school on time every day. We are very proud of our success in moving students forward, but teachers cannot teach students who are not there. Counselors cannot help students who do not come to meet with them. PLEASE MAKE DAILY SCHOOL ATTENDANCE A HIGH PRIORITY.
What is FAFSA? Federal Student Aid- The government provides free tuition, a computer and books for two years to qualified high school graduates to attend an occupational center, a community college or a four-year university. As your student progresses toward graduation, a counselor will be contacting you to set up an enrollment appointment. We want 100% participation of all of our graduates, i.e. no stones unturned for student success!
I look forward to meeting all of you and to a wonderful school year.
Very truly yours,
Dr. Carol Greene
